Annual Sponsored Walk
Although the Walk took place at Shoreham Beach on the 19th April it has taken a little longer than usual before we had all of the pledged cash returned to us. I have always said that taking part in the Walk is the easy part – whereas collecting the money from your sponsors is probably the harder part.
The weather was quite kind to us, being warm but not too warm for the dogs and with refreshment kiosks at the start/finish and halfway points I’m sure that all enjoyed their stroll along the sea front. Although only eight walkers “signed in” when they and their human walking companions together with their dogs set off on the Walk there was quite a little band of people and dogs walking for Boxer Rescue – our thanks to you all.
The total amount received by Boxer Rescue was £1,393 which included £901 riding on the back of Maisie – Betty and Reg’s dog pretending to be a boxer for the day. Thank you very much Maisie and our grateful thanks to those members who were unable to attend the Walk but kindly sponsored Maisie’s efforts.
Once again, many thanks to all walkers their dogs and of course the sponsors - the final total of £1,393 was magnificent and very much welcomed given that our monthly Kennelling and Veterinary costs are usually around £2,500.
